Not all couples are created the same - and neither is their style. That is why we are in love with this edgy street style shoot thought up by talented Detroit wedding creatives including Chettara T. Photography. Chettara says, “Feeling inspired by recording artist Melanie Martinez and an art mural on a semi-busy street, I wanted to do something super colorful, fun, with a hint of child-like nostalgia (who doesn’t remember trying their best to blow the biggest bubble?).”

Heading into the shoot with an eccentric vision, Chettara knew that a fun, open space was needed. She says, “Our shoot took place at Eastern Market in Detroit, Michigan. Eastern Market was the perfect location for this as it houses street art from various talents around the country.” The team took many highlights from the city and used them for their inspiration. Chettara adds, “The color palette was inspired by the art mural in which we did a sweetheart table. We wanted to go full out and different with the colors.”

This colorful shoot needed an equally as edgy bridal look. Chettara says, “The dress was found at a thrift store by stylist Tiffianie. It worked for this shoot as it was fun and flirty. We wanted a shorter dress that could lend beauty while still highlighting our model’s amazing tattoos!” This thrifted dress was matched with a glamorous makeup look. Makeup artist, Tori Surowiec says, “Anastasia Beverly Hills and Tarte are my go-to brands for bridal makeup. I went with a softer natural look with rosy pink cheeks and a nude to pink lip to go with the bubble gum theme of the wedding, and topping off the look with bold lashes and a smokey eye to create that edgy vibe.”

Bringing in the cool vibes Cristina of 24th Ave Designs created stationery with modern brides in mind. She says, “My inspiration as the stationery designer was the location of the shoot. I knew I had to play off the mural that was painted on the brick wall. I loved the colors and the bubblegum pinks and blues. I wanted to create something different than my usual invitation suites. I decided to create an edgy and romantic suite because weddings are about romance after all. I really enjoyed creating my version of a graffiti wall as the main design for the invitations and sweets menu.”

The icing on the cake of this shoot was - the cake! Ashley from The Dulce Experience used the location for her inspiration as well. She says, “It was inspired by colors, the mural where the tablescape is, colors and bubblegum.” We love that the entire team was inspired by their city and created this totally edgy design!
