Mutual friends brought together Megan and David. After initially meeting each other, David reached out via social media the next day and planned their first date. Grabbing some food followed by a walk in the park was the start of this couple’s happily ever after!

On the 4th of July, the couple was hanging out with Megan’s family at their lake house when Megan caught sight of their rescue dog. The pup was wearing a new collar--one that read, “Megan and David Sparling, July 4th, 2020.” David got down on one knee and Megan said an enthusiastic yes. “I loved that my whole family was around for the proposal and we all celebrated the entire day after that,” she gushes.

Megan’s sisters assisted David in picking out her ring, settling on a gorgeous cushion cut. Megan adds, “When he proposed, he used the same ring box that his grandma’s ring was in when she got engaged, so that was very special.”

Because the couple has been together for over five years, they already have a good idea of their wedding theme: classic black tie. However, planning around COVID-19 has been a struggle. “Ask any COVID bride, planning during this time is frustrating and difficult because so much is unknown,” Megan says. No matter what the future holds, they know they’ll be surrounded by loved ones on their big day, and that’s all that matters!
