Elegance and Boho Collide in an Industrial Venue: A Springtime Chicago Style Shoot

Photos ByAlivia Gray Studios

The main inspiration for this shoot was to bring a boho feel to a rather industrial yet elegant space for a spring-inspired style shoot. Unfortunately, the spring weather had other plans, and the team had to work some things around in the rain delays. Thankfully, they were able to bring this stunning shoot together despite the weather!

While the venue has some rather industrial elements—like the exposed brick walls and piping throughout the venue—it remains a timeless space due to the elegant touches. Details like the chandeliers, large windows and decorative mirrors help elevate the space to a timeless venue where weddings will be held for years to come. The large courtyard is a blank space for couples to design their dream wedding while the banquet room has plenty of open space for your guests to enjoy. This space can become whatever you want it to be, and the team turned it into a warm-toned, spring-themed celebration.

Look at that show-stopping dress! The floral details in it truly emulate the beauty of blooms in the spring while the long sleeves and train keep the elegance alive. A bride will feel comfortable and warm in this gown no matter the season or weather. The bride's hair and makeup were kept rather natural and neutral. The team decided on some cascading curls with a half-up bun and the makeup was natural with a bit of shimmer on her eyelids and a bright, warm color on her lips.

The details of the shoot were all very whimsical and bohemian while including some elegant flourishes and textural differences. Florals around the golden candle sticks are such a beautiful textural contrast that bring in both boho and elegant feels to the tablescape. The wooden table helped keep the boho spirit in the shoot while the golden charger plate and cups are so timeless and classic. We especially love the bright pop of the red napkins! The team also utilized the various glass and mirrors around the venue for different textures.

We wish we could try a slice of that delicious-looking cake! The three-tiered cake is simple yet elegant in the way the icing is laid. The bottom layer being relatively undecorated highlights the elegant touch of gold flakes in the icing. We also love that the top two tiers expose cookies all throughout the cake. And the garnish of flowers on the side tie it into the rest of the bohemian elements of the shoot. We almost wish it wouldn't have been eaten!
