The Vision

Celebrate love in an abstract style with WeddingDay’s Spring/Summer Detroit digital cover shoot! Ryan Abney, head planner and owner of Ryan Abney Event Design, had a vision that focused on a color palette that wasn’t often seen for spring and summer weddings. Her use of organic and earthy tones created abstract, artsy vibes that you’re sure to swoon over. Captured by Ellie Frances Photography, this cover shoot utilizes a variety of spring colors and textures to draw elegance from the eclectic!

The Venue

Pontiac, Michigan’s The Crofoot boasted a variety of spaces with many options to choose from for our shoot. The indoor spaces offered high ceilings, exposed brick and stunning natural light to create a dreamy rustic atmosphere, while the outdoor areas provide plenty of stunning photo ops. The Ballroom also showcased its flexibility when closed blinds and lively lighting created an intimate moody atmosphere that’s perfect for an evening of dancing and drinking!

The DÉcor

With the idea of an intimate ceremony in mind, this eclectic tablescape offers a unique organic spin on an elegant micro-celebration. The springtime color palette takes on earthy tones through the tableware. Multi-colored glassware, textured plates and candles all create an eccentric abstract theme. Fresh fruit wedges, clay pot seat markers and fanning menus were used as a nod to the shoot’s garden atmosphere.

The Look

Keeping in line with the rest of the shoot’s colors and elegance, the model’s hair and makeup was styled gracefully by Primp Beauty. With copper toned makeup, her gorgeous sparkly smokey eye perfectly accents her natural beauty. Her delicate and intricate bun holds her hair back to showcase the beaded back of this stunning Becker’s Bridal dress. The gown’s silhouette is simple, sophisticated and oh-so-elegant! Her look is topped off with statement jewelry crafted by Larson Jewelry Design.

The Florals

The floral designs created by Flowers for Dreams Detroit are truly awe-inspiring. From the large blooming bouquet to the small, detailed flowers added into the bridal fan accessory, this abstract style is so elegant it looks as though they were pulled straight from a garden. The luscious varieties of roses and greenery showcase the fluidity of springtime while still maintaining an elevated, artsy look. Bright shades of yellows and oranges add the perfect pop of color to this blushing color palette!

The Stationery

Romantic textures and tones were big inspirations for this stationery suite! The Ambrosia Rabbit’s old world invitation set included a custom wax seal and deckled edges, tied together with a sweet ribbon. Abstract strokes of paint on the invitations and curved RSVP cards add a touch of playfulness to the suite. Wanting to incorporate modern shapes into the shoot, the signage used drew from organic and earthy tones, keeping simple yet modern elevated circular designs.

The Cake & Desserts

This three-tiered square cake is more than a dessert—it’s a gorgeous piece of art! Sugar & Spice Bakeshop designed the dessert’s unconventional look as a nod to the shoot’s abstract theme. Additional sweet treats, including tarts and dessert shooters, help make this dessert table look simply scrumptious!
