An Elegant, Garden Fairytale Celebration: The Real Wedding of Jessica and Joshua Ashford

When a friend came to visit Jessica in college in Chicago, she told Jessica she'd be bringing a friend. Jessica had no idea her friend was working as a match-maker when she brought Joshua along! Four years after they started dating, Joshua decided to propose to Jessica at The Highlands, a restaurant in Detroit, where they are both from. "We had the best seat in the house," Jessica recalls.
 

Look how beautiful Jessica looks in that gown! Even though she thought she knew what she wanted when she went dress shopping, Jessica was pleasantly surprised. She admits, "I knew that I wanted a trumpet style but I was completely smitten when I tried the A-Line for the first time. It was the fifth dress I tried during my first dress consult." It is simply stunning on her!
 

Choosing vendors was a relatively simple task for Jessica and Joshua once they had a theme and color scheme nailed down. Jessica explains, "We simply wanted to work with the best of the best. Quality, reviews and reputation all played a factor." We think they created the perfect team for their dream wedding.
 

 

What We Love

After watching a lot of Say Yes to the Dress, Jessica joined bridal Facebook groups and scanned Instagram and Pinterest to finalize a theme and style that she and Joshua wanted for their wedding. They ended up with all-white decor, resulting in an elegant and romantic theme. "My husband really wanted a romantic, white, fairytale style wedding. To complement that, I really wanted an outdoor/indoor garden feel. I also love pampas and roses. It was perfect," Jessica raves. No garden theme is complete without the right blooms to fill the space. Pushin Petals did a fabulous job curating the perfect florals to make their theme come to life!
 

 

Advice from the Couple

Jessica and Joshua advise, "You can have your dream wedding on a budget! There are tons of quality vendors our there that are willing to work within your budget. Breathe, remember to have fun and choose people that you trust and can depend on to help you along the way. You got this!"
