The Engagement of Alexis and Austin

This week’s engagement session is a little more special than others. That is because it was photographed by Valerie Michele Photography and comes from Valerie’s point-of-view. Being close to every couple that she works with, Valerie gets a unique view into the world of weddings. This couple’s engagement session is so gorgeous that we can’t wait to show you the rest!
 

Alexis and Austin met at Alexis’ best friend’s house and have been together for six years. The couple shared a romantic night together on a beach at Kirk Park when Austin popped the big question. Valerie adds, “They love to spend their summers walking the beach and sipping wine. Austin first asked Alexis to be his girlfriend at Silver Beach (so we just had to do their engagement session there!).” We love that Valerie takes extra care in choosing her engagement session locations. It makes it all the more special!
 

The couple picked Valerie to photograph their session because they felt an immediate connection with her. Valerie notes, “Alexis and I clicked from the very first phone call. It was like talking to an old friend. We had an instant connection. We both lived in the same area at separate points in our lives.”
 

Alexis and Austin were not exactly sure what they wanted to wear for the engagement session. Luckily, Valerie had that handled (is there anything that this photographer can’t do?)! Valerie includes a custom engagement style guide for every couple she photographs! She says, “Alexis ended up finding her dress the day before their session! She typically wears darker colors but we wanted to switch it up for this session. So she had a harder time finding this dress but we’re so glad she did! It turned out to be perfect for their shoot!”
