Amber of Blush + Blossom Events envisioned a style shoot that would embody the old world architecture and beauty of Europe—a place that she loves—and found the perfect Indiana locale to reflect that historic elegance with Laurel Hall. From the charming details and gorgeous interior to all the variations in looks that it offered, Amber was smitten.

“When I began looking for a dress to fit the theme of the shoot, I originally wanted a long-sleeved, lace gown,” Amber says. “I thought I would end up with a Monique Lhuillier, because her lace work is gorgeous, but Marie Gabriel Couture Bridal had just gotten in a stunning Calla Blanche dress. The moment I saw it, I knew it was just right. The detail on the gown is so intricate, which is what immediately drew me in. The cap sleeve and high neck is not something you typically see on a bride.” The look was completed with an elegant updo and light and natural makeup.

The team wanted to create a bouquet that featured lots of greenery and a delicate color palette. While Amber felt the colors evoked emotion, she felt they weren’t overpowering and created the ethereal, airy feel she envisioned.

Working with Manayunk Calligraphy, the shoot features a European-inspired invitation suite complete with French names and vintage stamps to add old-world vibes.

The cake design was also kept simple and elegant with buttercream icing made to look like cascading ruffles.

Amber says, “I purchased antique, silver trays and left them a bit tarnished. The remaining rentals were linens, flatware, glassware and plates.  I love La Tavola Fine Linens because of the texture of their linens and rich color options. Very few rental companies offer linen, which is what I knew I wanted to use to play up the airy feel I was going for. I wanted the linens to drape the table in a way that felt very rich.”
