Fairytale Charm Meets Industrial Chic In WeddingDay's Exclusive Northern Indiana Digital Cover Shoot

The Vision

Our Northern Indiana cover shoot stepped right out of the pages of a fairytale! Katie Doehrmann, owner of Moonlit Designs LLC, created a style that perfectly combined an organic and moody atmosphere while still showcasing the industrial venue space. “It seemed like a great way to tie in those bold, dark colors that we see a lot in bohemian weddings, while giving it that fresh natural feel that I have been seeing for the last two years,” she says. By creating an intimate celebration, this shoot touches on micro-wedding trends while letting an extra spark of magic seep into the details of the décor. The Venue

The Charles Fort Wayne Event Center’s versatile atmosphere and market lighting was ideal for this shoot. Its exposed brick walls gave off a rustic and moody backdrop for an industrial theme to come into play. The Charles’ outdoor garden, gazebo and pond area give the space a gorgeous outdoor area perfect for intimate ceremonies and magical photo ops! Katie adds, “Being able to play with an outdoor ceremony that was sweet and intimate, to a larger reception hall was the perfect combo for the theme and is really appealing to a lot of brides.”

The DÉcor

Natural elements provided by Moonlit Designs LLC take center stage in this display. Katie utilized crystal centerpieces and moss to create a magical fairy feel, while gold candles and wooden chargers brought a twist to classic elegance. Blush napkins and linens added that finishing pop of color to really complete the organic look. An arching fabric and overflowing greenery add the perfect touch of whimsical delight to this sweetheart table!

The Look

“Any time you say fairy, you have to include a flower crown and a whimsically poofy dress, and that is exactly what we did,” Katie jokes. Blush Bridal & Beauty Boutique showcased their talents for both gowns as well as hair and makeup styling on our model. The two dresses range in style—the first is whimsical and grand while the second boasts a slimmer, more delicate silhouette. Both gowns offer stunning lace detail! The bride’s makeup was kept minimal to complement her natural beauty, and her hair was braided into an updo to softly frame her face.

The Florals

These magical blooms truly are the star of the show! Florist Fleur To Gather used a combination of roses, lilacs and other colorful flowers to create an organic meadow look throughout the shoot. From the bride’s dreamy flower crown to the luscious floral archway, each floral arrangement has a spark of untamed, wild magic. Additional greenery and smaller arrangements decorate the indoor sweetheart table and tablescape to keep the authenticity of the outdoors.

The Cake & Desserts

Here in this enchanted shoot, we like our desserts whimsical! Tameka’s Cakes & Desserts designed a three tier dark gradient cake, topped with elegant floral pieces to tie in an organic feel. Katie notes, “I really wanted the cake table to feel like you had stumbled upon it in an enchanted forest.” Tameka’s Cakes designed additional cheesecakes, mason jar cakes and cookies to add even more sweetness to this magical dessert table.
