Though often the first idea when booking a farm venue is to go for a rustic theme, Kellie Hetler of Hetler Photography wanted to prove that it wasn’t the only direction a couple could go. Inspired by the stark contrast of black and white across this venue and the gorgeous sunset, Kellie decided to try something unique. “Our main goal was to show that you could have an upscale and classy event at this venue,” Kellie explains.

Frugthaven Farm has many different settings that can give a wedding a gorgeous, modern feel,” Kellie raves. The modern black and white colors that spread through the venue are what drew Kellie to Frugthaven Farm. In fact, the tablescape photos look like an elegant dining hall with farm-styled elements in it.

Speaking of the tablescape, look at that delicious food spread! We love that all the food selected matches the terracotta color scheme beautifully. Those cakes also look scrumptious! Kellie gushes, “The dessert artist decided that she wanted to have a display of three cakes in varying sizes, shapes and colors which made such a beautiful tablescape that you didn’t want to eat!”

The color scheme was an easy decision for Kellie. Aside from the black and white that already decorated the venue, Kellie wanted to add in  terracotta. “This color can be perfect for almost any season and feels so natural when being outdoors,” Kellie explains. She also asked for green in the floral arrangements created by Grove and Co. to tie the outside and inside shots together.

The model’s dress was another quick choice that happened the day of the shoot. A boutique brought several dresses for the model to try on, and both her and Kellie knew this was the one. As Kellie describes, “Simple and timeless in shape and material with a flowing cathedral veil to bump up the romance factor.”
