When Chad transferred from a company's Grand Rapids office to their Dallas one, he met Jessica. Though she wasn't into him at first, a conference changed her mind when she saw Chad while getting drinks for her and her friend. He came to talk to her in a true rom-com, slow-mo moment. Chad decided to propose during a trip to see his family in Spring Lake, Michigan. "Chad planned the most perfect proposal, from my favorite place (a beach) to having my parents there to surprise me and my dream ring," Jessica gushes.

Jessica has known what she wanted for her engagement ring since she was sixteen. Her father got her mother a new ring for their 20th wedding anniversary, and her mother told Jessica she could have the original ring if she wanted it. That ring became the inspiration for her dream engagement ring. Jessica explains, "My mom has had a picture of what I wanted once Chad and I got serious. So when Chad asked their permission, my mom was more than happy to go home, get the ring and take Chad to her jeweler who could do the setting."

Google searches and wedding help websites helped Jessica find their engagement session photographer. Despite being a wedding planner in Texas, Jessica didn't have many connections with photographers in Grand Rapids. So, she compiled a list of five that fit her budget and had consistently good reviews then scheduled video calls with three of them. "However, after speaking with Jessie Silva I knew she was the right photographer for us! She and I had similar personalities and she just knew exactly what I was going for and was down for anything! Chad and I will be taking many pictures in years to come with Jessie!" Jessica raves.

Since she has a background in wedding planning, Jessica has known exactly what she wants for her wedding for around five years. The biggest thing for her was hiring local vendors so they know how best to use a space. Even with her knowledge, Jessica recommends a day-of planner. "I don’t want to be bombarded with questions or issues the day of while I’m trying to get ready and get married, and I doubt any of your readers would either. Even if you plan it yourself–get someone for the day of!" Jessica advises. The planning went amazingly! Jessica had everything booked three months after her engagement!
