Get Lost in the Stars in this Celestial Indianapolis Style Shoot

Photos ByShelby Horton Photography

You’ll find your star crossed lover in this sparkling celestial style shoot. Shelby of Shelby Horton Photography wanted to capture a ceremony that had moody, romantic vibes but gave couples looking to elope a few creative out-of-the-box options. She believes that elopements and intimate ceremonies are a trend that’s here to stay. “Some couples are taking a step away from the traditional wedding to do something fun and solely for them, and I think that’s great and so fun,” she says. “I wanted to portray this creative elopement feel into the shoot!”

This cake has us starstruck. The black and white buttercream icing with tiny gold star accents is a perfect celestial treat! We love the addition of the starry and navy gold foiled lollipops for an otherworldly flair.

This 102-year-old venue is one of Shelby’s favorite spots to shoot. She frequently does sessions for families on location, but this was her first style shoot in the space. The building's original brick speaks to its history and unique architectural character.

Despite the rise of the pandemic, the team stuck to their schedule to create this shoot. “It was extremely difficult to follow through with the shoot after several vendors (understandably) dropped out the week prior,” Shelby admits. “Due to our shoot being less than ten people and all of us were healthy, we persisted, with Lysol, social distancing and all!”

The sparkling designs of each of these dresses are out of this world! Shelby drew inspiration from these dresses for the entire shoot. The models did their own hair and makeup, creating their very own soft, organic look. Simple additions like the stylish hat and unique leather jacket take this shoot's glamour up a notch!
