Inspiration can come in many forms and for Lynsey Moore of Pixie Dust Events, it started with gorgeously perfect turquoise and gold peacock plates. “I knew that they would be perfect to use for a styled shoot," Lynsey says. “So when the Detroit Rising Tide Chapter decided to do a group styled shoot in celebration of our one year anniversary, I knew I had the perfect opportunity to use the peacock plates.”

A visit to a local store to pick out linens was just the catalyst the talented team needed to fine-tune the palette and define the vision for their fun, bright style shoot. The DIME building, located in downtown Detroit, was the perfect venue with its abundance of windows and natural light, beautiful hardwood floors and blank canvas appeal.

Bella e Dolce Cakes designed all the show-stopping delicacies. “My favorite details on the cake were the masquerade cake topper, gold lace accents and the vertical pearl appliques,” says Lynsey. “We also had mini-tarts, cake truffles and macarons included on the dessert table.”

What could be better than one dress? Two, of course! “I knew I wanted to use a colored dress in the shoot and I already had this gorgeous, turquoise, beaded dress in my closet, so that was an easy decision,” Lynsey says. “I also picked up this really fun, blush gown so we would have more than one dress option. I thought both of the dresses fit the shoot perfectly." A natural yet fun and girly vibe completed the look. Details such as fake eyelashes, a pink lip and one side of the hair pinned back created the exact feel the team aimed for.

In addition to the infusion of pretty florals, including classic roses and carnations, the bright linens were a key driver in the palette. The team particularly loved the gorgeous coral linen with gold shimmer. They paired the coral linen with deep teal napkins and turquoise chair sashes. Lots of gold accessories also added to the glam look and feel. Gold items included cake stands, bowls and silverware, a gold-mirrored table and bar cart.

The bright and gorgeous stationery and paper goods added hints of pink and glitter, while the fun glittered feathers added the perfect touch.
