Grab a Glass for This Downtown Sunset E-Session: The Engagement of Heidi and Tommy

Despite the fact that Heidi and Tommy attended the same school together in Utica, Michigan, and spent time with one another, the two didn't get together until after high school. Though Heidi had a crush on Tommy back then, it was Bumble that brought them together post-graduation. Heidi is a huge traveler and wanted to visit all fifty states, so Tommy used that goal as a way to propose. "We had planned to visit his cousin in Arkansas, and that's where he popped the question. All of our family and friends knew before that weekend what was going to happen," Heidi shares. We love that Tommy chose to propose where Gone with the Wind was filmed!
 

The happy couple had had many conversations about a wedding ring before Tommy proposed. "I knew I wanted rose gold but was skeptical about details. I had finally decided on a princess cut diamond with a halo, with diamonds along the band as well," Heidi explains. Tommy purchased the ring she described, picked it up and placed it in his sock drawer for safe keeping for the three weeks before their Arkansas trip. Heidi had second thoughts about her ring before the trip, but Tommy reassured her. It all went smoothly, and Heidi loves the shine and sparkle of her ring!
 

After much research, recommendations and reaching out, Heidi was able to find the right photographer for their engagement session. Since both Heidi and Tommy are wine lovers, they wanted to be able to include that as part of their engagement photos. Their photographer Erin recommended a place in downtown Utica that was perfect. "Being in that part of town, she knew there was some awesome wall murals that would look wonderful for the pictures. Downtown Utica is a frequent spot for us with the many restaurants, bars and things to do, so it really made sense to have our pictures done there," Heidi raves.
 

Heidi and Tommy have been facing many challenges during their wedding planning. "Well, it is still a work in progress. We have been figuring it out as we go and doing plenty of research," Heidi and Tommy admit. Heidi came into wedding planning with the idea of creating something different, but both of them have felt a little out of their depth. Even though they butt heads at times, they know that they both want to see an amazing and beautiful day and even joke that if they make it through this that they'll make it through anything. Despite the stress wedding planning may be causing, they both cannot wait for their big day and to spend the rest of their lives together!
