A Grand Rapids E-Session Bursting with Joy: The Engagement of Lindsey and Sam

Meeting at the Kent Career and Technical Center wasn’t an accident for Sam and Lindsey. It created a perfect match! Fast forward a few years, and Sam is proposing to Lindsey on Christmas Eve in front of her grandfather’s statue in downtown Grand Rapids. 

Lindsey didn’t know where to start in planning for her wedding despite discussing marriage at length before Sam proposed. Though it wasn’t super exciting to pick out all the details at first, Lindsey started to get into it. “I often had a ‘whatever looks great is fine’ attitude. But once things were full speed ahead, I really enjoyed picking flowers, themes for the bridal shower and wedding reception and decorations for the ceremony,” Lindsey explains.

Though Lindsey didn’t have much pre-planning before her engagement, Sam knew what he wanted for the ring. Sam went to their family jeweler in Detroit to design it. “I absolutely love my ring, Sam designed it all by himself,” Lindsey gushes. And we think it’s gorgeous! Lindsey says, “It is really a beautiful yet tasteful ring and the best part is although some may look similar, mine is custom designed just for me. I’m the only person in the world with this ring.”

They found their photographer Tushona Monét Photography through a family friend’s recommendation. Lindsey raves, “I loved how she appreciated natural lighting in her wedding & engagement photos so we had to book with her!” Apprehension set in when they realized she was based in Indiana, but Tushona happily traveled to Grand Rapids for their session!
