Geena and Daniel shared nearly every class together in college, so they had a lot of time to get to know one another! A solid friendship led to a sparkling romance, and soon there were wedding bells ringing in the distance. After the couple was touring the home they just bought together, Daniel popped the question in the master bedroom.

Because the pair decided to spend some time renovating their home, they decided to have a two-year engagement. “I don't think anything was set in stone for either of us, the planning was a team effort of our combined interests,” Geena says. As an architect and interior designer, respectively, Daniel and Geena already had a distinct style they loved. We love the light and airy atmosphere of their greenhouse venue!

Geena wanted to find a gown with an overskirt to avoid the hassle of a bustle, while still achieving a ballgown look. “The overskirt was perfect,” she gushes. “It had a nice long train for the ceremony and made a great surprise for my husband the day of since he did not know the dress was two pieces. I ended up revealing the surprise while doing photos between the ceremony and reception, and the photos of his reaction are some of my favorites from the entire day!” Paired with the gorgeous makeup and hairstyling done by Beauty by Ashleigh, Geena's romantic look is one for the books!

What we love

Designers at heart, this couple let their true colors shine through with the little details in their wedding. Geena explains, “We represented who we are with architecture and clean lines in everything from our save-the-dates, to the wedding venues, to the cake topper, which was two chairs designed by one of our favorite designer couples.”

Advice from the couple

Geena urges couples to really make the day their own. “This is your day and no one can tell you what you should do. If you listen to everyone's opinions, then at the end of the day the wedding was theirs, not yours. I loved our day so much because it was so uniquely us in every detail,” she says.
