1.  Research, research, research!

Before making your first bridal appointment, pour over bridal magazines and check out the multitude of bridal sites on the Internet. By investing a little time researching, Indianapolis brides can find the latest bridal gown fashions available.  From cut to color, create a file of dress styles that speak to you.  Also create Pinterest Boards that reflect your wedding aesthetic.

2.  Determine any family heirlooms you want to include in your wedding day look.

Has your family passed a bridal veil down through the generations?  Do you have a certain necklace, bracelet, earrings or hair comb that you plan to wear?  Have these pieces in mind before shopping and bring them to your bridal appointment.  The more information that you have, the better decision you will make!

3.  Have your wedding dress budget determined.

Before you step foot into a bridal shop have in mind how much you will be comfortable paying for your gown.  Your appointment will be much more productive if the stylist can pull dresses in your price range. Further, you do not want to fall in love with and have your heart set on a gown outside of your budget.

4.  Carefully consider your entourage.

Selecting your wedding gown is a big deal and certainly an event you may want to share with others.  That being said, it is an emotionally charged experience that is best shared with one or two very supportive individuals who will allow YOU to make your own decision without undo influence and unsolicited opinions.

Just remember careful consideration and preparation will make for a wedding gown shopping experience that is both rewarding and memorable.
