This Indy Canal Wedding is Full of Smiles: The Real Wedding of Gina-Gail and Greg Edwards

Gina-Gail and Greg met in a bar during a Meetup event. They talked about travel, sports, and soon a spark lit up their hearts! After a year and a half of dating, Greg popped the question under the stars in Jamaica. How romantic!

Gina-Gail knew she wanted a dress that she could dance in while staying comfortable. “My dress was fairly plain but it was exactly what I wanted,” she notes. “It was a simple, beautiful dress.” The addition of a glittering headpiece boosts this simple style to the next level!

Because of Gina-Gail’s professor status, she knew she had to have a wedding when school was out for the summer. She focused on getting a venue for their big day first, then worked on weeding out what she didn’t want for her ceremony. “I didn’t want a stuffy event or to spend too much time planning it,” Gina-Gail notes. “I wanted my friends to have fun and to highlight one of the main things Greg and I both enjoyed—travel.” The themes of this wedding were easily accomplished thanks to the couple’s planner--Events by D. Nicole. “I wanted a fun, whimsical event and Danielle was great at executing it,” Gina-Gail explains.

What we love

The tables in the couple’s reception were named after countries where they had traveled together. Due to their shared love of reading, the centerpieces were books and candles. “Those touches personalized the wedding for both of us since it combined our love for reading and travel into the décor of the wedding,” Gina-Gail gushes.

Advice from the couple

Gina-Gail assures future brides that worrying over the little details just isn’t worth it. “Enjoy your wedding day! You don’t get any do-overs!”
