the VISION
Influenced by Pantone and executed by a talented team of Indianapolis-based vendors, our cover shoot was designed and delivered to impress and inspire. The name designated to this cover shoot was “Glamorous (Hollywood) Regency” which is a nod to the 1930s era in Hollywood. The vision was to borrow elements from this era while not necessarily re-creating or mimicking the style. Instead, the vendors brought in a new design ingredient by introducing the Pantone colors of 2016 into the décor scheme. By using the time period as a launching pad, Rose Quartz and Serenity added trend to the classic Hollywood theme.
the floral
Using the Pantone colors of Rose Quartz and Serenity as a palette, the floral elements of this shoot stuck with soft shades of pink and light blue. The bridal bouquet was an enchanting blend of cascading garden roses and hints of blue limonium and cream wax flowers. The table flowers followed the vintage look with open touches of Italian Ruscus with loose Misty Blue flowers in the background. The decorative florals were arranged in contemporary pedestal bowls.
the Dress
Our bride wore a vintage-style, two-piece dress by designer Carol Hannah. The antique style of the gown paired perfectly with the model’s classic hair and the venue’s historical character. The blush skirt was made of silk organza while the bustier was a blush duchess satin connected by an intricate belt. The crystal-adorned capelet added a touch of sophistication and accented our bride’s neckline.
the DÉcor
Indiana Landmarks provided a stunning landscape for the decorative blueprint of this cover shoot. With components such as organ pipes, a grand piano, natural wood floors, and stained-glass windows, the décor was fashioned to be stunning yet subtle. The florals were complemented by mercury pedestal bowls, a popular décor craze. And the design scheme took the spring season into account when it was decided to incorporate the Pantone colors. Gold and silver metallic accents were incorporated throughout to match the venue’s interior.
Hair & Makeup
Aligning with the 1930s Hollywood theme, our model wore her hair in a classic finger waves style, giving some of the era’s chicest Hollywood stars a run for their money! Her bold and dramatic makeup harmonized with the theatrical attributes of the venue with smokey eyes, glamorous lashes and deep burgundy lips.
The venue
Indiana Landmarks is a beloved Indianapolis tradition dating back to 1891. Its strong historical and architectural details lent both inspiration and scenery to the overall concept. Indiana Landmarks is a church-turned-venue that boasts stained-glass windows, ultra-high ceilings, and intricate embellishments throughout.
The ceremony component of the shoot was held in the Grand Hall, a theater-style church sanctuary featuring a domed ceiling, an elegant chandelier, organ pipes and controlled lighting effects. The reception was held in the adjacent Cook Theater where the all-wood space holds considerable presence with a performance stage, wooden walls and ceilings, and chandelier.
The venue’s elaborate details and historic architecture reflected the glamorous intent of the style concept.
