Home is where the heart is, and for this Indiana style shoot, the ladies from Catherine Barber Weddings and Monica Brown Photography wanted to incorporate everything about a Midwest wedding into this fall-themed photo shoot. Deeming the theme, “Tasteful Touches of Fall for the Classic Couple,” the team wanted to showcase local Indianapolis highlights but had to work to keep from letting their emotions overwhelm them.

This stationery gets a special shoutout for the gorgeous design! The artist Gracie designed a fall-themed crest as a perfect nod to the season. Monica says, “We kept everything in the fall copper tones on ivory paper to stay more traditional with our paper base, but love how the details gave it an upscale and detailed look.”

This shoot’s food was based on what the team imagined the groom would request--his favorite snacks from childhood, including vanilla cheesecake, caramel drip cake, apple pie, cinnamon bundt cake, s’mores and caramel apples. Talk about a sweet tooth! We love this artistic array of food that ties into the fall theme!

“It was easy to get excited, dream and play with the details, but also important to balance staying on time and respecting vendor departure times,” explains Monica. “The main quote inspiring our feelings for the day featured on the hand towel gift from the bride to her bridesmaids that says, ‘For health and food, for love and friends, for everything thy goodness sends, we are thankful.’”

Laurel Hall was the ideal choice for a venue because its historical, classical features fit perfectly with the theme the team was going for. Monica says, “The stunning architecture, ivory building backdrop and surrounding foliage make for a perfect wedding location. We chose to highlight our favorite steps of the venue on the invitation envelope liner to emphasize where the lovely evening would take place.” We love how the rentals tie all this together--thanks, A Classic Party Rental!

The addition of pumpkins to the shoot’s floral arrangements keeps the feeling of fall in a cute, tasteful way! Monica says, “We really wanted the palette to feature and complement natural fall colors, so it was easy to choose copper and ivory tones as foundational colors with other autumn accents.”

We love the elegance and sophistication of that long veil! Monica says that the Chantilly lace veil was picked specifically for the way it would look draped down the Laurel Hall stairs. Check out more of this awesome venue with this style shoot video!
