When Gabriel and Lauren were invited to a trivia night by their mutual friend Jenna, they never imagined that they'd meet the love of their lives. In 2022, the two made the move back to Michigan to help care for Lauren's dad. However, Gabriel took Lauren back to California in July of the same year for a day at the aquarium and a proposal in Long Beach with the Queen Mary and Pacific Ocean as the backdrop!

"I had the honor of designing my dress with a friend that I met studying abroad in college at the Paris Fashion Institute," Lauren shares. This truly custom dress is SO beautiful on Lauren. As the designing process began, Lauren told her friend Diana that she wanted a satin gown that had no lace and an off-the-shoulder detail. Diana had free creative reign on the rest of the details of the dress. The gown she designed is absolutely stunning! Diana also provided Lauren with a shorter dress to party the night away.

Since Lauren and Gabriel are both in busy seasons of their lives, they looked for all-inclusive packages when they started their hunt for wedding vendors. "We visited Zingerman’s Cornman Farms first and were instantly impressed," Lauren explains. "The venue feels like you are at home. It’s cozy, classy, rustic and elegant all at the same time." On top of loving the venue itself, Lauren and Gabriel also thought their catering was the best food they'd ever tasted! They couldn't imagine a more perfect wedding day!

To decorate the ceremony and reception spaces, Lauren and Gabriel wanted to highlight the elegant and rustic themes of the venue. With the assistance of Cornman Farms' design team, they were able to create a space that radiated classic beauty. We love their use of white and gold elements to bring out the elegance of the venue while also incorporating plenty of greenery to accent the wooden and rustic design of the venue.

Advice from the Couple

Lauren and Gabriel advise, "There are so many options out there for venues and vendors, so don’t settle! Wedding planning doesn’t have to be a full-time job and feel like a giant burden. Make the effort to find vendors up front that offer the support you need and can also make your dreams/visions come true. You won’t regret it!"
