This whimsical idea came from the desire to make a ceremony that was completely unique to the bride and groom. "When comparing weddings, there are usually several elements that are similar, if not identical, thus making weddings feel the same. We wanted to bring something to the table that people haven’t seen before," Chloe Jackson of Creating Joyful Moments explains. The idea was whimsical-meets-bohemian with the hot air balloon as the backdrop of it all!

The hot air balloon posed some challenges for the team. Chloe shares, "We chose this location primarily because finding a place where a hot air balloon can depart and land from is complicated. All I knew was I needed an open field with nothing but grass and trees in the background, and thankfully, the hot air balloon business we partnered with knew just the place!" We think the outdoor setting makes this feel even more magical and fairytale-like!

All the décor for this shoot was chosen carefully to align with the team's vision. From the vintage furniture in the ceremony space to the eclectic china on the reception table and even all the floral details, this shoot screams whimsy! Even the color scheme was chosen with care. "I was really wanting something that was vibrant but soft. To me, when I was picturing this shoot, I saw mostly soft pinks and blues," Chloe shares. "But I let the florist work her magic, and as you can tell, she most certainly did!" They were even able to incorporate Illuminating, the 2021 Pantone color of the year into the palette.

We are obsessed with the bride's style! The floral detailing on her dress along with the sheer, detachable sleeves makes her look as if she is a princess who stepped right out of a storybook! Her updo and neutral makeup help highlight her natural beauty. We also love the groom's tie from SuitShop! The floral details against that deep purple are stunning and so unique.

The biggest challenge of this day was the weather. "Because the shoot happened in the middle of an open field, we had to bring in everything—furniture, lighting, power, etc. We also had to work through the process of getting a permit for the shoot, which was made even more difficult when we had to reschedule the shoot due to weather," Chloe says. Though they can be a beautiful way to celebrate safely with family and friends, outdoor weddings can't happen without a solid plan B, which meant rescheduling as the team could not move to an indoor venue.
