This Low-Key Indianapolis Micro-Wedding Has Snazzy Style: The Real Wedding of Leigh Doner and Kurt Lueken

Leigh and Kurt connected with each other in their work cafeteria. Leigh explains, “Kurt and I were both struggling with the touch screen you have to use to order. We joked about how we both work in tech but can’t even order a sandwich.” The couple soon started chatting and hit it off on a few dates! Once the couple had been going steady, Kurt knew it was time to take the next step. On a trip to Lassen Volcanic National Park, he paused their hike to drop to one knee next to a waterfall!

Leigh knew she wanted to find a sleeveless ball gown for her big day, so the search for the perfect dress didn’t take long! “My friends make fun of me because I went wedding dress shopping for about 30 minutes and was done,” she jokes.

What we love

Even though the couple planned on having a large wedding, they were forced to restructure into a smaller celebration because of COVID-19. This didn’t stop them from having an unforgettable day! Leigh says, “I wouldn’t trade the wedding I had for anything. That is so precious to me.”

Advice from the couple

Leigh encourages couples affected by the pandemic to not fret about having a smaller celebration. She adds, “I thought I would regret having a small wedding but I really loved it. You can roll with the punches and still have an incredible day!”
