From Marina to Vineyard, This Michigan E-Session is All Smiles and Love: The Engagement of Alissa and Peter

When Peter moved to Grand Rapids for work and Alissa moved there to continue school, they never expected they'd meet their future spouse. Since neither of them knew anyone, their paths ended up crossing and they eventually began dating. When it came time to proporse, Peter took Alissa on a seemingly "normal" date in downtown Grand Rapids, but it quickly changed when Peter started to lead Alissa down a path of rose petals that ended at the Grand Rapids Art Museum. Of course Alissa said 'yes' once Peter got down on one knee at the top of the steps!
 

Even though Alissa gave Peter a few ideas of what she wanted in a ring, Peter designed it himself! He chose a round diamond and pave band. Peter was able to keep the ring shopping a secret while still pouring lots of love and thought into his ring design. Alissa shares, "I love everything about the ring, especially the sparkle and the classic/timeless look!" We think it looks beautiful!
 

Picking the locale for their engagement session was so easy for Alissa and Peter. Much of Peter's family is from Harbor Springs, Michigan and still lives there today. Alissa always wanted a waterfront engagement session so it made sense that Harbor Springs was the perfect place to go! Utilizing some inspiration photos, Alissa chose to wear a more casual outfit and something a little more elevated for this session. Both Alissa and Peter gathered clothes they thought would work well and decided on the final outfits a few hours before the engagement session.
 

Though Alissa had a few ideas for their wedding theme after they got engaged, seeing venues sparked more inspiration. After seeing eight venues, they found one that has the characteristics they were looking for and solidified the theme. Their planning is going well! "It was a little stressful trying to align all of the dates with the different vendors, but we’ve made it work so far! We have a lot of details to still finalize, but we were able to find a terrific venue and book key vendors to make the day unforgettable!" Alissa raves.
