Tell us more about your business. 

"I am an on-location makeup artist, specializing in bridal makeup and owner of True Beauty by Dana. I come to the bride the morning of her wedding and travel to Southwest Michigan, Northwest Indiana and the Chicagoland area. I can accommodate any size of bridal party and my bridal rate includes a preview and a bridal touch up kit."
 

WHAT SETS YOU APART FROM OTHERS? WHY SHOULD A BRIDE CHOOSE YOU?

"I feel as a makeup artist, you have to connect with your clients and not only be a good artist, but also be extremely personable and dependable. Also, as an owner, you have to know how to run a successful business. I am proud to say I have all of these qualities. A bride should consider me as their makeup artist because I have almost 20 years of experience in the makeup industry, am great with communication and I will make her look her absolute best on her special day. I listen to what each bride wants as her vision and help bring that to life. This is why previews are so important—because it gives the bride more confidence so she knows exactly how her makeup will look on her wedding day. I also highly encourage brides to book their makeup artist 9-12 months in advance, just as they book their other wedding vendors."
 

Do you have anything else exciting you would like to share?

"My work has been featured on the cover of several bridal magazines. I love doing photo shoots! I average around 40 weddings per year."

What is your inspiration as a makeup artist?

"My inspiration as a makeup artist is having so many friends who are also makeup artists. I love referring other amazing artists if I am already booked. I also love trying new makeup products and trends. You can never stop learning new techniques! My brides also inspire me to continue my path in bridal makeup, as they are so fun to work with. Each bride has their own story and every wedding is so unique and special."

What do you love most about helping brides on their big day?

"What I love most about helping a bride get ready for their big day is just knowing I am a part of one of the biggest moments in their life.  A bride’s face is in almost every photo and knowing their wedding day makeup is being captured forever in a wedding album, for example, is something I am proud to say I was a part of. The morning of your wedding should be fun, relaxing, and stress-free and one of my goals is to help make that happen! Wedding day makeup should make a bride feel confident, radiant, and be the best version of herself.  When I hand a bride a mirror and they are in awe and say, 'wow' and even shed a tear…that’s when I know I have done my job! It’s a very fulfilling moment."
