“Stonegate is such a gorgeous venue! The passion they have for their property is palpable and their attention to detail makes this the epitome of the dream wedding venue.”

- Stephanie H., Bride

Looking for a unique, one-of-a-kind venue complete with vintage charm and the flexibility to be tailored to whatever your heart desires? Stonegate Manor, located just 10 miles from St. Joseph, Michigan, is just the charming spot you need for your special day. From its beautifully restored 1847 Manor House to its gorgeous grounds, magical ambience quaint amenities and on-site lodging, you will be able to relax knowing your wedding will be as memorable as it is complete.

To learn more about its charming details, we checked in with Stonegate Manor owner Prudy Barrett Nelson.

PLEASE TELL US A LITTLE MORE ABOUT THE VENUE SPACES YOU OFFER?

"Stonegate Manor is a 27 acre estate venue located 10 minutes from St. Joseph, MI and Lake Michigan Beaches. Crowned by the 1847 Manor House, the estate features an expansive lawn, two ceremony sites, the Bridal Cottage and the Riverside Room, an indoor reception venue.

Start your day in the Bridal Cottage, the newly renovated original carriage house and stables. Furnished with opulent, period antiques, you can't help but feel like a princess! There is ample room for you and your bridal party to get picture-perfect for the big day! Hold your ceremony in either the wooded Fairy Garden, a lush clearing in the woods, or at the classic pergola, followed by cocktails plus fun and games on the lawn. End your day with dinner and dancing guests under the crystal chandeliers and elegant ambiance of the Riverside Room."

WHAT SETS YOU APART FROM OTHER VENUES IN THE AREA?  WHY SHOULD A BRIDE CHOOSE YOU?

"We say that like a 'little black dress,' Stonegate Manor can be all dressed up for an elegant affair or attired more casually for an afternoon and evening of outdoorsy fun and games. It all depends on your taste. The expansive lawn allows for plenty of room for conversation, cocktails and games. The winding brick path leading to the classic Pergola on the Lawn creates an elegant ceremony experience. The wooded Fairy Garden is most often described as “magical” while its unique vintage arch offers a more casual, secluded spot with Mother Nature as your backdrop. With its tasteful décor and neutral palette, the Riverside Room allows you to create your own style!

The Manor House is definitely a much-loved, unique feature of Stonegate Manor. Built in 1847 and beautifully restored, it can be used day-of as a place for family and friends to gather, have lunch, get dressed and maybe even have a pre-wedding cocktail. And, if yours happens to be the only wedding of the weekend, the Manor House, with its 3 bedrooms, is available for on-site lodging.

Indeed, few, if any, area venues offer the combination of easily available options to suit everyone’s needs. Plus, it would be virtually impossible to top our Bridal Cottage! It’s beautiful!"

Any perks or benefits?

"The Stonegate Boutique is an eclectic collection of unique and often one-of-a-kind items we offer at little or no charge to couples. Styling your event can be easy and inexpensive! Why buy when you can borrow?

Rather than limit your food options, we are open to any licensed caterer of your choosing, leaving you free to craft a menu that exactly suits your tastes."

What is your capacity?

"We can seat up to 175 in the Riverside Room."

DO YOU HAVE ANYTHING ELSE YOU WOULD LIKE TO SHARE?

"YES!! Our one-of-a-kind Fairy Garden recently won first place in Michigan Dream Wedding’s 'Favorite Ceremony Venue' contest."
