The Modern Trousseau: Pack Perfectly for your Honeymoon

Many brides spend days and weeks preparing their bridal ensembles, but it's also important to think ahead for your honeymoon trousseau as well. Your honeymoon will most likely be one of the most special and romantic getaways of your life. You want the photos and memories to be full of beautiful, eye-catching looks! First, pick a natural hue to be the theme color of your honeymoon wardrobe. For example, choose black, white gray, brown or beige. Once you have settled in on one neutral color, it will be easy to narrow in on what to take. For our sample trousseau, we used black as our neutral. We then selected accent colors of coral, lime, lemon, and fuchsia. Black leggings or black sandals can be worn several times with different tops and tanks in the accent colors. You will feel more prepared and pack less this way. Just think, if you took a black dress, and then a brown dress, you might feel the need to pack both black and brown heels. By making sure black is the undercurrent of each ensemble you can really keep your suitcase lighter!
 

POOLSIDE GLAMOUR

Think Hollywood Glamour when headed to the pool! Jazz up a great, retro-inspired swimsuit with sparkles, big shades and pretty sandals. What a great way to feel special on your honeymoon!
 

TRAVELING OUTFIT

When traveling you can be both comfortable and chic at the same time. Take a fun tunic that doesn't wrinkle and layer it over a pair of leggings. Pair it with sandals and a big carry-on bag that has some style and....voila! You'll look put together (while still feeling relaxed after your big day) for those memorable pictures on the plane and upon arrival at your resort!
 

DAYTIME EXCURSION

On your honeymoon, it's fun to take a day or two to see the sights and sounds of your destination town. Making use of the same bag and sandals, we paired a tank with some cute jean shorts. The tank is flattering and pretty with just a touch of lace, but will help you stay cool in hot weather. The shorts are cute and stylish with great stitching and pocket details but are practical too for everything from hikes and flee market shopping, to even deep sea fishing!
 

WALK ALONG THE BEACH

A honeymoon wouldn't be complete with out a hand-in-hand walk along a beautiful sandy beach! This cute dress is the perfect piece to pack for your trip. While you could wear it over your swimsuit with sandals, you can also dress it up in the evening! Throw on some heels and jewelry and you're ready for dinner followed by a sunset stroll. Kick off the heels and go barefoot!
 

ROMANTIC DINNER

Most likely on your trip, you'll want to plan at least one extra-special, romantic dinner date. By taking a dress that has a neutral, black and white color scheme you can make use of other accessories from the trip as well, and not have to pack separate formal shoes and items.
