The concept from this shoot came from Alexys Skolnik of Alluring Alexys. "Going in, I knew I wanted a dark, moody, bourbon bridal shoot," Alexys admits. "I saved a ton of bourbon bottles hoping I'd be able to use them one day for an event." She wanted this shoot to be unique and unlike anything that has been shot before!

Finding vendors was easy enough for Alexys. The venue brought in its own attitude to this shoot and fit wonderfully with the design Alexys had in mind. "It added a rustic touch. They even had whiskey barrels!" Alexys raves. The florist was wonderful, too! All Alexys had to tell the florist was that she wanted moody flowers. Sloan delivered beautiful florals that matched the theme perfectly. The only issue Alexys ran into was a few COVID cancellations that were fixed in a pinch!

The color scheme shined through from the stationery to the flowers and all the way to the cake! "There are hints of gray and yellow throughout the venue and the cake," Alexys says. In fact, let's take a minute to talk about that cake! We love the way it emulates stone as a stunning contrast to the wood. Though it looks like stone, that doesn't stop it from looking scrumptious!

Despite the build-up to this jaw-dropping shoot, the dresses were a last-minute decision. However, they complemented each other and the theme of the style shoot! As for makeup—Alexys's area of specialty—Alexys knew exactly what was best. "I wanted something simple with hair and makeup, but I also wanted to complement each bride's personality," Alexys explains. We think she pulled this shoot together perfectly!
