This Michigan style shoot is refined and romantic at its core. Brainstormed by Lisa of Lisa Villella Photography, it captures the theme of “Sophisticated Romance” with a touch of moodiness!

Lisa explains that Van Hoosen Farm was not only centrally located to all the vendors involved in this shoot, but was also perfect for completing their vision of the shoot. “The stonework on the building—as well as the rustic, yet romantic setting—made it a perfect fit,” she notes. “There were several little nooks, which added to the romantic vibe—including the stone staircase and the flagstone patio!”

This shoot has little details that shine, like the tiny flowers in the delicate floating orbs, the candles and the white linen. We love the rich color palette chosen by the team to offset the soft sophistication of the bride!

There was no dress shopping involved for this shoot. The model brought her own dress! We love how sleek the style is—and so did the team! “Because it was so simple and sophisticated, it could stand alone, or be paired with elaborate flowers, jewelry or cake and not be too overpowering,” Lisa notes.

What’s more sophisticated than gold? We love how the gold accents on the cake bring a sense of regality to the place setting. The unique touch of green is the perfect offset of color! “Our baker loves green,” Lisa notes, “so she wanted to incorporate that into the cake.”

There is a lot of greenery used in this shoot, but the floral tree steals the show! According to Lisa, the team incorporated it to touch on a few trends of large and loud floral statements. “Our florist wanted to create a wow factor that was unique and jaw-dropping,” she explains. We think it worked!
