After they got engaged, Brennan and Trip set their budget and went about planning their big day. They utilized the help of Pinterest to narrow down what was important to them and focus their vision. They actually spent a long time mulling over the theme and color palette. "We were worried about choosing something we loved in the moment, but that would look cheesy in the coming years as trends changed," Trip admits. We think the wedding they planned turned out beautifully!

With their love and personalities in mind, Brennan and Trip ended up choosing a theme and color scheme that really mattered to them. Trip gushes, "Both of us are really into the outdoors, and since this was such a priority with our venue location, we figured we could work it into our theme a lot, as well." Their color palette ended up being an array of greens rather than one specific color, which can be seen in their bridesmaids' dresses. Trip advised her bridesmaids to choose any dress color that could be found in a forest. See how Clark Videography beautifully captured all the colors of this wedding in the video below!

When it came time for Trip to select her wedding dress, she wasn't completely sure what would make her look best. "I went into my
dress appointments with some inspiration," Trip explains. "I was hoping to tie into our theme with some lace that looked like vines or leaves." Trip ended up finding a gorgeous A-line gown with a sweetheart neckline and floral details that look like hanging plants. It was the perfect dress to highlight her beauty and match their theme!

What We Love

One difficult part of the wedding process was choosing how they would change their last names. After struggling to figure out if one of them should take the other's last name or if they should hyphenate, the loss of family members provided them with a solution. "I unfortunately lost
both of my grandparents right before the wedding, and we decided that taking their last name was the perfect decision for us," Trip shares. The happy couple also had a friend officiate their wedding and had a special ceremony for their first dance. When the mother-son and father-daughter dances were over, they had their parents walk them "down the aisle" to share their first dance together as husband and wife.

Advice from the Couple

Trip and Brennan advise, "The biggest piece of advice we kept hearing while planning was that things will go by so fast, so you have
to try to live in the moment and remember everything! We combatted this by taking pauses all day where we took 'mental screenshots' of everything around us. We made it like a fun little game where we would pretend to take a picture of each other and it really did help us to remember things. It was nice to do this for important moments rather than just stressing about taking everything in constantly the whole day. I would also give the advice to surround yourself with your most important people. There is a lot of pressure to invite uncle so-and-so or make that one girl your bridesmaid because you were hers."
