Chancing and Ryan met where many modern couples are starting to meet—a dating app. They matched up, some messages were sent back and forth and soon enough they were on their first date. Ryan decided to pop the question at Disney World! Chancing adds, "He proposed while we were at Disney World. We’re big Disney nerds so it seemed fitting!”

The couple knew one thing before they started planning. They knew they wanted an outdoor wedding, so they starting seeking out a gorgeous venue that could offer those idealistic outdoor scenes. “We always knew we wanted to get married outside and wanted it to be at a vineyard,” says Chancing. “Huber’s was super accommodating to us. The fact that we were a same sex couple was never an issue.”

After booking their venue, the couple went on to book their other vendors. They knew they wanted Mary of We Choose the Moon Photography to capture their big day. Chancing says, “We chose Mary because we loved her style of photography and she had amazing reviews.”

Chancing and Ryan also wanted to go for classical, elegant wedding attire for their big day. Their matching suits were not only a nod to timeless style, but they also offered a color palette that fit the venue. Chancing notes, “We went to our local Macy’s and loved the style and fit. We also had them tailored there as well!”

What we love

We love that Chancing and Ryan put their own personal touches on their decor. Chancing says, “A lot of the decorations Ryan and I made ourselves to add a personal touch to it. We added quotes from our favorite movies along the aisle, made our own guestbook and memorial table.”

Advice from the couple

Chancing says, “Breathe — I can’t stress this enough. You can feel like the walls are caving in on you at times. But just take a step back and breathe. Everything will work out in the end.”
