After reading the books and watching the visually stunning first season of Bridgerton, Courtney Carney of Courtney Carney Photography and Lisa Norris of Lisa Norris Events collaborated to put together a shoot that replicated the beauty of the Victorian Era. “I have been a fan of Julia Quinn and her Bridgerton novels for years! I was beyond excited to watch the Netflix adaptation of the stories and was blown away by the attention to detail in the show,” Courtney admits. With their inspiration in mind, Courtney and Lisa set out to put their own spin on this fan-favorite show!

The most difficult aspect of the shoot was finding the perfect dress. Though they wanted the details to remain as close to the era as possible, they were lenient with the dress style being more modern. “It was soft and romantic while keeping a level of modesty that was a must during that time period,” Courtney explains. We think the bride looks gorgeous, and the dress blends beautifully with the decor!

Speaking of the decor, look at those elegant flowers designed by Rubia Flower Market! “We definitely channeled the large, over-the-top florals featured in the Bridgerton series for our florals,” Courtney gushes. Another special feature in the decor is the incorpration of bees. “One key detail of the show is bees. It’s a big part of the storyline in the books, so Lisa and I wanted each vignette to include a bee in some way,” Courtney says.

And the most scrumptious-looking bee appears on the pocket watch that tops off the delicious cake! We are in love with the intricate details of the cake from the floral design on the second tier to the feather plume coming off the top!

We can’t give this shoot its proper praise without talking about the venue. As Courtney raves, “You look at that venue, and it’s like something you’d see in the European countryside!” It adds so much character to the shoot and really brings the theme to life. The airy color scheme against the regal and romantic backdrop ties the whole shoot together.
