Chelsea and Kylee knew each other through mutual friends but connected for the first time on Tinder. After their first date, the pair knew there was something special between them! Their adventurous proposal consisted of a scavenger hunt around the Atlanta, Georgia area, ending with Kylee popping the question in front of the city skyline!

Both women knew they wanted to wear dresses for their big day, and originally planned on going shopping separately. However, the pair ended up making their appointments for the same day and tried on dresses on opposite sides of the dressing area. “The whole trip took about an hour and a half–we were both surprised that we each only tried on a handful before we found ‘the ones,’” Chelsea says.

Having their wedding at their alma mater, Purdue, was important to the couple, so securing their venue was on the top of their to-do list. Planning after that turned out to be a lot easier than the pair anticipated. Chelsea says, “Our biggest guiding question was, ‘does this feel like us?’ That’s how we ended up getting married at our favorite school, having the after-party at one of our favorite locations, and choosing vendors and decor that were bright, fun and down to earth.”

What we love

Because Chelsea’s father passed away three months before the wedding, Chelsea honored his memory by wearing his purple heart pin on her dress. “It was important to us to make sure he was included even though he could not be there,” she notes. Another unique touch the pair incorporated into their day was naming the tables after places that held importance in their love story. “Each table had a photo of us at the location and location name on the front, and on the back was a story about why the place was important to us.”

Advice from the couple

Chelsea and Kylee urge couples to make their guest list as early as possible. Chelsea says, “We actually started ours on a whim before we were engaged. After the proposal, it was a huge time saver to already have a rough draft of the list started, and we just had to fine-tune it from there. When planning something as huge and open-ended as a wedding, it gives you somewhere to start, and having your must-haves all set gives you so much peace of mind throughout the rest of the planning process!”
