Break out your maps and get ready for your next road trip! You'll definitely want to check out this local Midwest city that was entered into our Best Midwest Wedding City 2020 Contest. Every delightful destination that was nominated brings its own down-home charm that you won't find anywhere else. And don't just take it from us! Read on to see why Martyna and Maximillian David picked Berrien Springs, Michigan to tie the knot.

How did you know Berrien Springs was where you and Maximillian David wanted to tie the knot?

"We knew we wanted our wedding to be different; we've attended so many banquet hall weddings and that style simply didn't 'fit' us. When I started researching wedding venues that were in line with what we envisioned for our day, someplace whimsical and outdoors, I came upon Hidden Vineyard in Berrien Springs, Michigan. It caught my attention immediately as that is the same small town my husband's grandparents live in. I remember calling him immediately and asking him if he was familiar with the place. He told me he had never seen it and he doubted it was really even there. We set up an appointment to go visit the place, it turned out it was just five minutes from his grandparents' house! Tucked away in the beautiful Michigan trees, the place was absolutely magical. The pond and the vineyards covered in the golden sunlight sold us on the place instantly; while walking by the grand ceremony tree we both felt that this was the place we wanted to start our most exciting journey yet."

Did you use any local features in your wedding?

"The most special local feature in our wedding was our food! We went with Latitude 42 Brewing who cook delicious food strictly with Michigan grown ingredients; they even brew beers from the local hops!"

What would you tell future couples who are looking to get married in Berrien Springs?

"I would tell them that it is an amazing city to get married in! It is absolutely stunning. The beauty of the fruit trees and vineyards really can't compare to anywhere else. Your guests can easily take advantage of the wedding location and extend the event to a weekend getaway. There are so many great attractions in the area including wineries, breweries and beaches! However, one of my favorite things about the area is how closely knit of a family all the vendors are! They recommend one another, and most of them have previously worked together before, which makes their teamwork on your special day seamless!"
