Morgan and Brandon shared similar roots when they grew up in the same community and attended the same elementary and high school. They didn’t get further acquainted until they were out of college and ran into each other at the gym! But Brandon’s proposal happened somewhere way more romantic than a gym--on the beach after sunset in St. Augustine, Florida!

We are absolutely dazzled by those high ceilings and stained glass windows! Morgans says it was one of the reasons why she booked the Scottish Rite. She explains, “I love the history of it and the old school, castle look. People don’t build things like that anymore. Every ceiling is hand-carved and painted. The pillars and the walls are so ornate. It’s just so grand!” The regal tablescapes with stunning florals by Eufloric Events filled the space perfectly.

What’s even grander than the venue? That dress! It’s simply fit for a queen! Morgan says, “I wanted a fitted A-line, borderline mermaid, but definitely not a mermaid dress. Since I was getting married at the Scottish Rite Cathedral, I needed a dress fit for the occasion. I wanted a long train with an even longer veil.”

Morgan wanted her wedding to be strictly black-tie, and have a touch of Victorian, vintage, classic and Medieval style. “I am a very decisive person,” she says. “I already knew most of what I wanted. So, I just started booking it.”

What we love

We simply can’t rave enough about the classiness of this wedding. Those bridesmaids' dresses are so sleek! One thing Morgan loves is her guestbook. “It was a super old photo album from Switzerland, brought back when Brandon’s maternal family came to America a very, very long time ago,” she says. “It had black and white pictures in it and was so old his grandmother didn’t even know the people in it.” They had a book binder restore the album and turn it into a guestbook with handmade paper and calligraphed cover!

Advice from the couple

Morgan believes that hiring a planner is a solid decision for any wedding and chose to work with Sarah Farthing of All in the Details. “If you think everything will all be fine without one, just wait until about 4 months out. You’ll see…Your time and sanity are worth it.” Having worked with Sarah several times ourselves, we couldn't agree more!
