Walking in the Kellogg Forest often during different seasons of the year, Monika of Monika Anderson Photography was inspired. “It offers beautiful sceneries such as pond with boardwalk, big willow trees, a covered bridge, curvy stream with seating along it and ton of gorgeous greenery!” she says. “I was picturing the wedding gown hanging from the top of the bridge, table set up outside by the pond, lanterns full of flowers hanging from the tree above, bouquet sitting on decorated swing, romantic sign on the way to isle and a couple exchanging sweet kisses by the stream.” She felt the locale offered a perfect wedding location for low-key couples with small amount of wedding guests.

Desiring to create a late summer/early fall wedding inspiration in burgundy, red, rose gold and white color scheme with plenty of contrast, Monika first selected the gorgeous, lacy gown and paired it with unique rose gold jewelry, an intricate yet loose braid and a bold lip.

The elegant invitations, menus and escort cards were inspired by the season’s blooms featured in the beautiful bouquet and decorated swing. She adds, “Lots of brides are working with limited options around here. I wanted to show brides that you can create a beautiful wedding without spending a fortune.”

Monika says, “We focused on picking and supporting local businesses. It was a combination of wedding industry professionals (hair and makeup artist, bridal boutique, cake vendor) and vendors that were absolutely new to this whole concept (for example, our furniture rental place, our plate rental place, etc.). This collaboration was supposed to prove that sometimes the right places for wedding shopping are just around the corner. You just need to think out of the box with picking the right details.”

The perfect recipe for prettiest tablescape was the contrast of white and burgundy, plates and vases in natural tones, rose gold accents and fresh apples. Repurposed furniture help to complete the rustic, woodland theme.
