As we all know, the engagement ring industry changes as years pass by. Cuts and bands grow in popularity then newer styles creep to the forefront. If you are someone who wants the latest fashion craze or if you wish to go against the grain with your engagement ring, this article is for you! We were able to interview the experts at LovBe, one of the leaders in lab-grown diamonds, to learn what ring trends they've seen in the industry.

Which Cut is Most Popular?

LovBe experts explain, "As couples search for a ring that epitomizes their unique love story, they are trending more and more towards fancy cut diamonds." The term fancy cut refers to many different diamond cuts that are typically more unique and modern. However, it is a very broad category that covers more traditional cuts like oval, pear-shaped, and princess diamonds while also including newer cuts like marquise and heart-shaped diamonds. Even with newer cuts, here is one that never seems to drop in popularity. "Classic Round Brilliants are a forever favorite of many, and due to the timeless nature of the cut, will be as popular decades from now as they are today," LovBe experts advise. So if you are looking for a more traditional ring, you can't go wrong with a classic round.

What Band Metal is Trending upward?

Both yellow gold and rose gold metals are having a moment in the engagement ring industry! LovBe has seen both of these metals rise in popularity along with brides choosing platinum instead of white-gold for their rings. Experts cite that platinum holds the stone most securely as opposed to other metals and is less maintenance than white gold, which has to be re-dipped to retain the white coloring. Still not sure what color you want? The final trend may be for you. "Two-tone rings are also rising in popularity, allowing the bride-to-be to easily pair her engagement ring with her existing jewelry wardrobe," LovBe experts say. Why compromise for one color of metal when you could have two!

Which Band Styles are growing popular?

Hidden Halo is a unique style of band that is steadily gaining the attention of many ring shoppers. "For those not familiar, this ring setting style features a secret only the wearer will be wise to, there is a hidden ‘halo’ of pave diamonds just below the center stone on the ring’s setting," the experts at LovBe rave. Though this isn't noticeable at first glance, the Hidden Halo adds extra brilliance and shine to the diamond, which will draw all attention to your ring. Some brides are still opting for a matching band for the ring setting they chose, but others are heading in a more unique direction by selecting one that maybe doesn't match exactly or sit flush but still compliments the ring. Remember, the best ring is the ring that reflects your love and personality!

What other trends have you seen?

"Customization is having a MAJOR moment!" LovBe experts share. Ring customization ranges from engraving your ring with a meaningful word or phrase (sometimes even just initials) to selecting specific side stones to accent the main diamond. With so many customization tools out there, some couples have even chosen to custom design the entire ring! There is no better way to be sure you're getting a ring that is personal to you and reflects your personality and love than to build it with your significant other. No matter which ring you pick, the most important thing is to be sure that you are in love with it, and the experts at LovBe are more than happy to help you find your dream engagement ring.
