Both being big sports fans, Lanie and Jordyn connected frequently in middle and high school because their schools were in the same sports conference. Lanie's family always frosts cookies a week before Christmas, and Jordyn joined them for the tradition one year. "He wrote 'Will' with frosting on one cookie. I had no clue. Then he wrote 'U' on another. Then he took me to my parents living room and proposed to me in front of my closest family. It was so intimate and sweet!" Lanie gushes.

Jordyn chose the ring himself. Lanie explains, "I told him like five years ago that I wanted a pear shape but other than that, we didn’t talk about it at all! He did it all himself and it’s so gorgeous!" We think it looks stunning with all three of their engagement session outfits as well. Their first engagement look is based around the scene in the 1998 version of The Parent Trap when the twins' mom takes Annie to her wedding shop in a white power suit. Lanie loves the movie and the scene and wanted to emulate it in her photos. The happy couple also incorporated their love for sports by wearing Chicago Bulls jerseys. Their third style was a sleek black look

Lanie actually knew their engagement session photographer, Marissa, in high school and trusted her to beautifully capture their day. Even though they already knew each other, Marissa was completely professional and had great customer service. The thing that sealed the deal for Lanie and Jordyn was that her photography style perfectly matched their aesthetic. “I selected the location for my engagement photos because I loved the idea of city vibes because there’s so much potential for backgrounds and I love the movement photos with the lights on the road," Lanie raves.

"I’ve always known what I’ve wanted out of my wedding! My favorite color is black and I love elegance so my vision was to always have a black and white wedding because it’s timeless," Lanie shares. "I also knew I wanted a bunch of babies breath and white roses because that’s what my parents had at their wedding and I admire their love so much." So far, wedding planning is going great for the happy couple. Lanie is beyond giddy to be a bride since she is one of the last of her friends to get married. They also gave themselves more than a year to plan, which has significantly decreased their planning stress.
