Remember when marsala was one of the Pantone colors of the year? Well, we're still not over it. And we're relieved to see that we're not the only ones struggling to let go. So when the photographers at Studio Phrené, Joan from Merci Beaucoup and Leah from Pearls Events put their heads together to show off their love for marsala, the autumn season and the historical charm of a local mansion—let's just say the results were successful.

Although the majority of the vendors hailed from the Grand Rapids area, the style shoot took place at at the Turner-Dodge House in the heart of Michigan's capital city Lansing. "We love the history of the mansion and the museum, and thought it would be perfect for a fall wedding," says Phrené, owner of Studio Phrené. The mansion provided a beautiful, rich background for the entire style shoot.

Other details fell into place, inspired by gold candle holders, table fruit, gold-framed signage and a vintage farm table. Garden roses and luscious greenery pulled the details together emphasizing the rich fall colors. The finishing touches included hard cider and doughnuts—a fall tradition, perfect for autumn weddings.
