Table Design Showcase Raises Money for a Good Cause

On Sunday, March 4th, the ABC Indiana chapter hosted the 8th annual Art of the Table, a design showcase of 29 unique tablescapes benefiting the Betty Jackson Memorial Education Fund and the American Cancer Society. Betty Jackson was an ABC member who died early in her career. “The education fund is set up to provide funding for the ABC annual education conference in November. Part of the fund goes toward the Midwest Education Conference targeted toward all event professionals” stated Gloria Boyden, ABC Indiana state coordinator. A special ‘Dinner with Betty’ table was prominently displayed in the foyer in her honor, welcoming guests to the event.

Since 2007, Art of the Table has donated nearly $4,000.00 to the American Cancer Society. This year an additional donation was made to the American Red Cross in honor of the victims of the recent tornado that left a path of devastation in Southern Indiana.

This year 19 wedding and 10 special event themed tables attracted over 300 guests to The Columbia Club. Those in attendance enjoyed cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, table browsing and the opportunity to cast a vote for their favorite table design. Boldly Chic Events was presented with the Art of the Table People’s Choice award for their “Creating Couture” wedding table. A panel of three wedding industry leaders judged all tables and presented awards to the Eventfull Planning team’s “City Sophisticated” for Best Wedding Table, The Columbia Club’s “Breakfast with Santa” for Best Social Event Table and Boldly Chic Events “Creating Couture” as the Best ABC Member Table.

This year, the winners of the Business of Brides Annual Conference to be held in Denver, Colorado on November 11-13, are Gloria Boyden, MBC™, with Events by Design, Laura Lim, with Eventfull Planning, Lauren Olson, with Social Butterfly and Jennifer Tornatta, PBC™, with Ruffles and Roses Weddings and Events.

The ABC Midwest Conference winners are Rachel Dillow, with Dillow Wedding and Events, and Kelsey Rigdon, with the Omni Severin Hotel.
