Julie and Matt grew up as neighbors. Little did Matt and Julie’s brothers know, all those years of playing hockey together would water the seeds of a beautiful relationship! After dating, Matt popped the question to Julie on the deck by Diamond Lake, Michigan. It was a few days before Christmas, and made the holidays that much sweeter!

We love the jeweled back and classic bow that ties together Julie’s dress! “When I tried my dress on, I knew it was the one,” she says. All the beautiful little details are perfectly captured by Josephiney Photography!

Julie wanted a “tropical chic” wedding while keeping the traditional style. Because the Gillespie Conference Center could easily fit the couple's guest list of 300+ people comfortably, they knew it was the right choice. The gorgeous tablescapes with rentals from Burns Rent-Alls helped create the tropical atmosphere that Julie was going for!

What we love

Julie and Matt had their ceremony at the same Catholic parish where their parents got married. Her parents even celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary the day after Julie and Matt got married. How sweet!

Advice from the couple

Julie wants to encourage couples to get their thank you notes sent out as early as possible!
