I'll be the first to admit that I'm technologically challenged. Sure I can navigate Google and the basic features of an iPhone 4, but when it comes to anything more advanced than that it's safe to bet it's probably over my head. With all of the advancements this field is continuously making, it's often difficult to keep up!

Today we're seeing more and more instances of technology working it's way into weddings. Not just in the planning, but in the actual day itself. From paperless invites to Facebook events to live streaming ceremonies and even virtual weddings, it appears that technology has certainly infiltrated the wedding industry on a range of different levels. As I may have mentioned before, I'm more of a traditionalist when it comes to weddings, so you can imagine my shock when I learned that some couples are beginning to designate a “tweet of honor” or a “chief Twitterer” to live tweet their big day (yes, this is apparently real).

By no means am I anti-technology. There are so many great ways to use it in your wedding planning and to capture moments from your big day, but I do believe it has its place in weddings and a "tweet of honor" may toe the line a bit. This is a day to celebrate the life and love of you and your other half - don't let that get lost in the distractions technology can cause.

I came across this interesting infographic on Style Your Wedding – along with some other interesting wedding-tech themes – and wanted to gauge your thoughts on the role of technology in modern weddings. Do you think it's gone too far, or does anything go as far as you're concerned? Is this something that just comes with the world we live in, or is it too extreme? Is tech the new white, as the graphic suggest? Take a look for yourself and comment on our Facebook page (Northern / Central) to tell us what you think.
