Stars crossed when Tara and Kyle met at summer camp. After the summer ended, the pair stayed in touch and began dating. Knowing it was meant to be, Kyle popped the question around a campfire in the Michigan dunes.

Tara knew the exact style of dress she wanted to wear, and only needed to try on three before she found 'the one'!

The couple always knew they wanted to have a romantic outdoor ceremony. “Dancing under the stars was a must!” Tara gushes.

What we love

This low-key ceremony is full of unique D.I.Y. touches. “My husband made the benches and the arbor. My dad made the cake. My two best friends painted the canvas signs. My friends make the floral designs. I made the bouquets with some help from friends. My best friend made the save-the-dates. Another friend made our invites,” Tara lists. The couple loved the personal additions from their friends and family!

Advice from the couple

Tara urges couples to utilize the talents of their friends and family in the planning and decoration process. “Their small touches made our wedding so, so special. Plus, it saved us money!”
