In our opinion, getting caught in the rain with your love has a certain air of romance about it, and, for Kevin Harrington, it was the perfect time to propose to Angela, who he met their freshman year of high school.

For most brides, everything revolves around the wedding date. For this couple, once their date was selected, everything fell into place. “For the most part, I had a picture in my head but made up the details along the way,” says Angela, who received the most inspiration from her family and friends.

The couple selected The Palms for their reception venue to accommodate their guest list of over 400 people. “I also liked the idea of a banquet hall because there is so much you could do to make the wedding your own,” Angela explains. Because Angela’s sister was married a year before, the pair had loved most of her vendors and secured them for their own nuptials.

Angela found her Essence of Australia dress at Sophia’s Bridal in Indianapolis. “I knew I wanted a fitted dress with an awesome back,” Angela says. “I tried different styles on for fun but fell in love immediately when I found the one.”

Angela chose navy blue and blush pink for her color palette, fulfilling her childhood dream of a pink and blue wedding. Her favorite aspect of the decor, however, was the centerpieces. “We had large bouquets at each table. It made it special to me because my mom and I share a love of beautiful flowers, and having them at each table brought us closer together.” Another much loved element? The band! Angela explains, “The band was absolutely amazing and really kept the party going. Our guests will hopefully also remember how beautiful the reception turned out to be!”

Advice From the Bride

Angela says, “Don’t let other people bring you down. Friends and family are going to have strong opinions that you don’t agree with. Don’t forget it is your wedding and you have the final say.“
