Love Never Fails

THE RIGHT PLACE, THE RIGHT TIME

While out with friends, Brandy Shuherk and Jordan Stackhouse found themselves at the same bar in Corunna, Indiana.  “We kept running into each other,” Brandy recalls. “Each time, we would talk a little longer than the last.”

A few weeks later, the two reunited at the same bar for their first date, and the rest is history.

A SIMPLE SUGGESTION

Nearly four years into their relationship, Jordan and Brandy were at her parents house discussing  family and children when Brandy’s dad made the suggestion that the two get married. Brandy found herself looking at Jordan as he quickly agreed with her father, “okay, let’s do this!”

With a crazy and hectic work schedule, Brandy turned to wedding coordinator Natalie, from Taylor Rental/Party Plus, to help plan her big day. “She is absolutely gifted,” Brandy says, “She has the capability of taking your ideas and making an event turn out even better than you had imagined.”

FOR BETTER OR FOR WORSE

Having what Brandy refers to as a “stress free” planning process quickly took a turn for the worse as Jordan’s father was admitted into the hospital and hopes of him attending the wedding were slowly diminishing.

The morning of the wedding, Brandy received a phone call informing her that Jordan’s father was too weak to make it to the wedding. “As soon as we found out he wasn’t going to be able to make it, calls were quickly made to close family members, our officiant, photographer and wedding coordinator to meet us at the hospital,” Brandy remembers. With his father present, the two were pronounced man and wife. “While this wasn’t what we planned for, we wouldn’t have done it any other way,” Brandy adds.

Following through with their original plans, the two returned to their ceremony location, at the Grand Wayne Center where Brandy walked down the aisle to “Something in the Way She Moves” by James Taylor, and the couple had a relaxing second ceremony.

In coordination with her color palette, Brandy and Jordan’s reception featured a dance floor surrounded by dining tables displaying beautiful centerpieces mixed with white hydrangeas, calla lilies, yellow roses and green mums. Celebrating with their closest friends and family, Brandy and Jordan’s reception transitioned into a night full of entertainment for all. “Despite the troubles we were going through, all of our friends and family were still able to have a good time, everyone was so supportive,” Jordan says.

WHEN MOUNTAINS CRUMBLE

Emotions ran high as the two shared their first dance to Led Zepplin’s “Thank You.”

“If the sun refused to shine, I would still be loving you.  When mountains crumble to the sea, there will still be you and me.”

Sadly, Jordan’s father passed away the morning after their celebration. Looking back, Brandy and Jordan are grateful they were able to have the presence of his dad at their wedding and continue to celebrate the memories they shared with him as they start their new life together.
