THE REAL DEAL
It didn’t take long for Dani Bauman to realize that Jon Smith, the man she met online using eHarmony.com in March of 2011, was the real deal. “On the way home from our third date I remember calling my dad and telling him I’d met the man I was going to marry!” The feeling was mutual and Jon proposed to his future wife just three months later.

RE-SETTING A DATE
Following the couple’s engagement announcement, more good news was shared when Dani’s sister announced that she was pregnant. “We were so ecstatic for her, but we knew she would be giving birth near our tentative wedding date, which was in the spring of 2012. Having my sister with me was non-negotiable, so we decided to get married in December of 2011,” Dani said.

FRESH FLORAL
Although the wedding took place a few weeks before Christmas, the couple opted out of having a holiday themed wedding. “Green is my favorite color and I’ve always loved cymbidium orchids. The center of those blooms has a deep plum color, which matched the color of my favorite flower – the hot chocolate calla lily,” Dani said. The colors ended up bright and fresh, which fit in perfectly with the venue’s gorgeous landscape paintings.

SYMBOLS OF LOVE
The ceremony took place at the Domont Studio Gallery, Indianapolis, and afterwards, while the guests enjoyed cocktail hour, the gallery was quickly transformed for the reception. As a creative alternative to the traditional wedding guestbook, Jon and Dani, with the help of artist and owner of the Domont Studio Gallery, John Domont, set up a special area for their friends and family to express themselves artistically on a canvas. Dani says, “The canvas, which is now displayed in our home, features ‘symbols of love’ as interpreted by our guests. Mr. Domont was available throughout the reception to help anyone who wasn’t sure how to execute his or her vision.”
