For Better or Worse

PRINCESS DELAYED
As the only girl in a family of three, Samantha had her heart set on a “princess wedding.” Yet that dream shattered when Annie, Sam’s mom, got seriously ill and spent 40 days in the hospital.  The wedding had to be postponed until a Thursday in August so that Annie could be by her only daughter’s side after enduring intensive therapy and recovery.

HEROIC VENDORS
When the date of the wedding was changed, Laura of MichaelAngelo’s The Event Company and Mike of Gull Lake Country Club stepped up and just made it work. Annie remembers her daughter and husband talking about changing the date as she was lying there in the hospital, unable to speak. She wanted to tell them not to change it, but she couldn’t.

PRETTY IN PINK
Planners created a fairytale land just for Sam and Dan. Lush light pink and ivory centerpieces were created with hydrangea, roses, stock and dendrobium orchids. Sparkly crystals and rhinestones added whimsy to the country club setting.

WHAT WE LOVE
The first time Sam saw the gown she selected, she was watching “Say Yes to the Dress.” It was her dream, fairytale kind of dress. The Lazaro model with pink tones was the first one she tried on and it was the one.

THE BOUQUET
Sam loves peonies, so the team at MichaelAngelos made sure they were part of her bouquet, which was also full of pink and peach garden roses, light peach ranunculus, blush pink and peach dendrobium orchids, blush pink dinner plate dahlias, and white hydrangea and white lisianthus.

THE BRIDESMAIDS AND GROOMSMEN
Of course the bridesmaids had to be dressed in pink! Their long, flowing gowns were just the right complement to the soft, romantic floral and décor. The groomsmen were adorned in classic, sophisticated black tuxes with pink bow ties.

ADVICE FROM THE BRIDE
When your perfect plan doesn't quite come together, don’t fret. You’ve put in too much time to not enjoy the day.
