Sara and Aaron’s relationship began as a real-life Romeo and Juliet story. While at a mutual friend’s apartment complex party in college, Sara and Aaron met and began joking back and forth which eventually led to high five from the second story window.

Aaron proposed to Sara while on a family trip to Las Vegas, after eating at The Stratosphere and taking Sara to the observation deck, nearly 1,149 feet in the air with a 360 degree view of Las Vegas.

The couple started planning by choosing a date. A LOT of pinning and selecting their vendors based on reviews! Sara adds, “We were living in Portland, Oregon but had decided we wanted to get married in Indiana so that our families would not have to travel so far. Muncie holds a special place in our hearts because we met at Ball State and spent the first years of our lives together there.”

Sara bought her Pronovias dress at Bridal Exclusives in Tigard, Oregon, falling in love with the fit and flare style.

Sara says, “Our wedding was special to us because every single detail was 100% us. Not working with a wedding planner added some extra stress and challenges but, in the end, I think it made our wedding have a much more personal touch.”

“My husband is a graphic designer and we both work in the print industry,” explains Sara. “Together, we designed all of the stationery for our wedding. Our centerpieces and favors were put together by us with the help of my mother and a few friends. We also worked with LaOtto Brewing to brew our own beer that was served at the reception!”

Sara and Aaron have always loved yellow and gray. Ever since decorating their home in that palette, they've considered the hues to be their colors. After browsing wedding websites, Sara fell in love with greenery-themed weddings and decided to add their beloved palette to that trend.

What We Love

Sara recalls her favorite moments saying, “We did our first dance on roller skates! My mom, who recently lost her battle with cancer, gave an amazing welcome speech. We brewed our own beer (and it was really good)!”
