Taylor and Jason met in college at the University of Michigan and it was on that same campus that their love story took on a whole new meaning. Taylor says, “He took me to dinner in downtown Ann Arbor before we walked to the Law Quad, where we walked through during our first date. He took me to the very same bench we sat on four years prior before asking me to marry him. He had champagne waiting at home afterward to celebrate.”

The couple swooned over the beautiful simplicity of their barn venue. Taylor says, “We fell in love with the rustic, romantic feel immediately during our tour. I knew I wanted an outdoor ceremony surrounded by greenery in a natural setting, and having the barn right there on the same property made everything SO easy!”

This wedding had many unique touches but two especially memorable details for the couple were the unity ceremony and the personalized oak whiskey barrel from Etsy that the couple poured unaged whiskey into as part of their ceremony. Taylor says, "This symbolized the joining of our marriage, but also how we would age with time together, just as the whiskey will. We are hoping to drink a glass on our one-year wedding anniversary. Here’s hoping it tastes good!"

We also love that Taylor chose to have her younger brother be her Man of Honor. She says, "It was a little non-traditional but I wouldn’t have had it any other way. He knows me so well, and was exactly the person I needed by my side through everything. Because our relationship is so close, his speech had the entire room laughing and crying the entire time. It truly meant a lot, and our guests still tell me how much they enjoyed seeing him in that role."

What We Love

Taylor says, “We chose our vendors based off of their awesome personalities! You spend so much time with your vendors, why wouldn’t you want to pick people you get along with? We wanted our big day to be organized so that we were surrounded by positive people allowing us to have a wonderful time.”
