The Market...where rustic and modern meet with a charming twist of irresistible style.

Located in Valparaiso, Indiana, The Market is a fresh, trendy venue with alluring design, all backed by an amazing team ready to make any couples' wedding dreams come true. The venue operated as a working farm in the early 1900’s, creating a truly rustic space that has since transformed into a modern bride’s dream venue. Manager Jordan Skaltsas says, “The appeal of our venue is the capability to create any style of wedding, shower or other event in our halls. Our programs allow the bride to envision her ideas to paper and the beautiful attributes of the halls help bring it all together.” This vision of versatility is what grounded our WeddingDay Exclusive Style Shoot with a trendy, industrial yet elegant theme.

The shoot's design began with Theressa Ruppert of Divine by Design. She wanted to use the amazing spaces of The Market for a cool and modern style. And there is a lot of space to work with in this venue! Jordan says, “We have two main areas at The Market. The largest and most versatile is The Grand Hall. This room can seat up to 400 people and the room can be split in half in order to create two halls: The East and The West. The other hall in the photo shoot is our newest addition to The Market: The Compass Room. This hall has a very industrial, lounge-type vibe and works perfectly for social gatherings.” The style shoot team pulled together an eye-catching design to show off these spaces, all captured by Kristen Mittlestedt.

The striking features of The Market cannot be beat with a stunning stone fireplace, wood accents, stone wall and eclectic bar. One of the best benefits of The Market is that they offer onsite catering as well as floral services. Jordan says, “Several other attributes of The Market that set us apart are our attention to detail in our customer service, our rustic but industrial halls and the ability to take advantage of all the in-house services The Market has to offer. At The Market, we really are a one-stop shop, which is one of the main reasons brides and grooms choose The Market to host their very important day. We offer simple to use layout design software, in-house coordinators and an on-site floral shop just to name a few.”

The Market contributed some of their own floral designs, while Flower Girl Floral and Events provided the rest. Bonding the industrial theme with the moody style, the florals included Hydrangeas, Burgundy stock, blush roses, peach Hypericum berries, wine carnations, hot pink peonies, bonsai eucalyptus, silver dollar eucalyptus and curly willow. These florals were added to tablescapes that flaunted classic, white linens overlayed with Burns Rent-Alls' deep burgundy linens at the head table, keeping with the industrial, moody vibe.

One of the main highlights of this style shoot was the ceremony space, which exhibits the versatile style of The Market. A bright set-up and archway covered with breathtaking greenery was set in front of the stone fireplace and gorgeous, wood ceiling beams.

To finish off the tablescapes, there had to be mouthwatering cuisine! Jordan says, “One of the main attributes of The Market that sets us apart from other venues is our amazing food. Our Owner and Executive Chef puts quality and originality into every dish served at all of our events. We use locally sourced ingredients and quality products to achieve a dining experience for all types of gatherings.” This fine quality can be seen in the delectable display of the menu items included in this shoot. And you can’t have dinner without dessert! Cookies on Call provided the classic yet elegant cake.

Spring Sweet provided a simple, strapless gown with beaded belt, complementing the shoot's style perfectly. Hairstylist Ashley Wells designed an elegant updo while True Beauty by Dana designed the makeup look, inspired by the deep, berry colors in the decor.
