Every girl dreams about what her wedding will look like. When you get engaged, you begin to make that dream a reality. But we all know real life doesn’t always go as planned—that’s why it is important to have someone stand by your side to help keep your big day on track.

Michelle Nikitaras of Unveiled Weddings and Events is here for you. Bringing over fifteen years of experience to the table, Michelle is an experienced planner and designer who works to keep your event as stress-free as possible. From excellent floral design to assistance in branding, Unveiled Weddings puts one-hundred and ten percent into all their services. We sat down with Michelle to discuss how organizing and designing weddings turned from a passion project to professional service.

Can you tell us about what motivated you to start your business?

"It was an accident really. A friend of the family asked us to help plan her daughter’s wedding seventeen years ago. I’ve been in love ever since!"

What is your business background? What skills should we know about?

"We started out planning weddings. Since then we have grown tremendously adding linens, floral design and miscellaneous décor!"

Would you say that your passion lies in your business? If so, what is that passion and how does it affect your business?

"I am passionate about everything wedding related. I love to watch the beauty of the day unfold. But, my favorite part is definitely the florals. Watching the brides' faces as they see the bouquet or the decorated room for the first time just melts my heart!"

How do you differentiate your services from other businesses that provide the same services? What makes you stand out?

"I think we are a true customer service-based business. We do not merely provide a product or service and then leave. Our main goal is to make wedding couples’ dreams come true! We excel at making true connections with our brides and their families."

As a business owner, what do you strive to accomplish? What should potential clientele know about you?

"I would want them to know that we truly care and we want your day to be as special as you are. We will work tirelessly to make all your wedding day wishes a reality."

Tell us about your services. How can you make a couple's day beyond anything they could have imagined?

"We provide a variety of services, including rentals, planning services, floral and day-of coordination. The Unveiled team will not leave until everything is perfect!"

Why do you love your industry?

"I love our couples of course, but I also love the other vendors as well. We are a tight-knit community and all strive to help one another and push each other to excel at our craft."

What are the most common questions you get from your clients? Can you share some words of wisdom on those questions?

"Our brides want to know what is included in our packages and pricing before meeting us. I would always suggest having a consultation to discuss concerns, budget and wishes. This is true for all vendors--get to know them and make sure they are a good fit for your vibe."

What is your favorite thing about what you do? What creates fun in your job?

"Flowers, flowers, flowers! I love learning every day about different floral varieties and making them work in a bouquet or centerpiece."

What tips would you give your clients? What are the best tips you have for the big day?

"Don’t stress too much the day of. Self-care is super important the months leading up to the wedding. Plan ahead, choose awesome vendors…then let them do their thing! This is why you’ve hired them."

What are the services you provide that clients are surprised about?

"They are often surprised we do floral design. We plan a large number of weddings each year so our clients think that’s all we do. The Unveiled team would like to change that in the hopes that more people see our beautiful designs."

What is the difference between a planner and coordinator? How do you know which service you need?

"A planner assists with the whole planning process, helping to choose vendors and even location scout. This service is for the brides that don’t know where to begin or simply do not have the time due to school or work. A coordinator helps bring the bride’s vision and hard work into fruition. We begin the month of the event with a detailed timeline and make sure everything is in order. Assuring nothing was missed and communication with all vendors will equate to a seamless affair."

Why should a couple hire a designer for their wedding?

"The last thing a bride will want to do is work on her wedding week. Leaving it to the professionals will not only help you to be stress-free, but it will also ensure everything is perfectly set. Hiring a designer can assist those brides that are just not sure how to put the different elements together for a cohesive look."

Do you believe in branding a wedding? What should a couple know about branding their wedding?

"I am all about it! I think it's a fabulous idea if the budget allows. Be sure to carry the “theme” throughout the day without overdoing it. Think subtle touches!"

What is next for you? What is in store for the future of your business?

"Who knows what’s next for any of us. My goal is to just continue to flourish in this ever-changing industry."
